First edition, first printing. 363 pages; bibliography and index Nicks and small splits to the spine ends, pale uniform discoloration or age-toning to the covers, spine darkened, endsheets tanned, else a very good, tight copy in blue cloth with gilt titles and cover decoration; no dust jacket. An early account of Mormons presented for a British audience by the American journalists. Reginald Wright Kauffman's novel THE HOUSE OF BONDAGE, a book about prostitution, was highly praised by Emma Goldman in her essay, "The Traffic in Women." Scarce.
