Book plate of William B. Casey on front paste down. End papers and title page toned at edges. Texblock slightly toned and foxed. John Thomson (1765 1846) was president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and was considered the most learned physician in Scotland in his day (Dictionary of National Biography). Title page reads 1817 but dedication from author is dated 1818. Ffep, viii, 9-509, blank x2, rfep. Not in Garrison-Morton, Waller, or Heirs. We find this author and title referenced by J. C.
