Vol.1: ix+389, all edges red, 30 figs; 1923-dated sig. to front pastedown, inner sides of endpapers and half-title browning, rear gutter cracking for 6.5 cms from bottom and 2 cms from top, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked; coversclean and bright but top spine chipped above textblock and some cloth rippling towards bottom front corner (possibly a binding fault), this is the series binding with gilt Sydenham profile logo centre front; Vol.2. half-title+t.p.+ 'Contents'++451, only a few unnumbered text figs, all edges red; end-paper browning as Vol 1 but half-title unaffected, unmarked, gutters good, series covers, a lighter shade of brown than Vol.1, are bright, clean and unworn, very attratcive in fact. Binz covers the whole range of drug types such as analgesics, anaesthetics, stimulants, purgatives, emetics, poisons, and antiseptics and Vol.1 includes a discussion of ergot.
