A very nice copy without flaw. 6 X 8.5" 289 pages. Full of fascinating history, generous wit and penetrating analysis, Little Red Riding Hood Uncloaked shows why the story of a young girl in the woods continues to be one of our most compelling and influential modern myths. "Little Red Riding Hood" began not as a children's story, but as an adult satire about what can happen to naive girls lost in the "woods" of Louis XIV's notoriously licentious court. In the 19th-century the Brothers Grimm stripped the tale of its overt sexual overtones and used it to drive fear into the hearts of disobedient children. **Bundle UP * Save On Postage**.
