Trasher (1887-1961) was an American Christian missionary in Egypt. Born in Florida, she became a member of the Holiness-Pentacostal faith and worked in a Faith orphanage in her teens. Breaking off a marriage engagement, she decided that her purpose was to perform missionary work in Egypt. There she was influenced early on by the death of a mother who left a baby daughter with no one to care for her. Trasher determined to do so, and eventually established an orphanage in Assiout. Trasher worked with the orphan children of Egypt for 50 years, up until her death in 1961. The Lillian Trasher Orphanage continues in existence today, run by the Assemblies of God with support from various churches in Egypt.
