About this Item
Grosset & Dunlap. New York. 1943. 216 pages. First edition thus. This title was first printed by Knopf; this is the first printing of the Grooset & Dunlap edition in its original DJ with the same classic artwork as seen on the Knopf first edition.100/100 price still intact on DJ flap. Book is about fine; only flaw is some sunning to spine where chips on the DJ allowed light through. Binding and hinges are strong. Book is tight. Green cloth panels are bright and clean as are endpapers. Original DJ with open chip on front at base, smaller chip on spine, shallow chipping at crown/heel, and a chip on lower rear corner. Despite DJ flaws, the book itself is near fine with its one stated flaw. An attractive copy in the same design and appearance as the Knopf first printing. Near fine/Good+. Seller Inventory # 002720
