A very presentable first printing of the final title in The Chronicles of Narnia. Blue boards clean and bright with only light handling. Gilt spine lettering sharp. Text block edges show some spotting, with mild foxing to the endpapers as typical for Bodley Head production of the period. Internally clean and unmarked. Dust jacket complete and not price clipped (9s 6d). Mild spine fading, though the blue tone and unicorn vignette remain visible. Small chip to one corner and light edge wear. Jacket panels strong and unfaded; flaps show mild foxing. No restoration. Jacket artwork by Pauline Baynes. Overall a solid VG copy in a VG jacket. Attractive, honest, and increasingly scarce in this condition. A sound example of the true first printing of the concluding Narnia volume. Please refer to the photographs where all defects are transparently presented. No surprises. The photo of page 50 shows the worst page in the book itself. The vast majority of pages are completely clear. Approximately 15 of 184 pages show a very small amount of foxing, page 50 being the most affected as per photograph.
