Beginning with Captain William Clark and Sergeant Matthew Prior to Martha Canary (Calamity Jane) whose house was on Canyon Creek. Elsie P. Johnston has gathered also the rise of the area after 1900 with hundreds of photographs and first-hand accounts of cowboys, businessmen, and elected leaders of the area. Laid in is a sheet identifying more than 50 of the contributors who assisted Elsie Johnston.
