the original pressed boards are worn and the spine ends are frayed. the label on the spine is present but is marked and worn. there are tears in the cloth that have been repaired. the book has a previous owner's gift inscription dated 1866. the binding is good. internally the book has survived well. there are marks and signs of use but the text is clear and complete. 389 pages plus adverts. the condition of the book is good considering its age.
