First edition, first impression, first state (with gilt lettering to the backstrip). A particularly bright example of Greene s account of his travels in Mexico in 1938. Very Good: firmly bound in vivid, unfaded red cloth showing only minor marking and a little bubbling beneath the cloth in a couple of places on the upper board; faded publisher s yellow topstain; a trace of dustiness and a few very faint, isolated spots to the edge of the page block; previous owner s signature (dated to the year of publication) to the head of the half-title, else bright, crisp and clean; map endpapers.
