Original free endpaper preserved, with early ownership name. Title page dated 1805. 319 pages. Printed in a large font and with wide margins. Pages slightly toned from age, and with mild foxing here and there. Text block tight and square. This printing has Longman, Hurst, etc on the title page as publishers and Ballantyne, Edinburgh as printer. Scott was in his early thirties when he composed the Last Minstrel; it would be a full decade until he began writing the novels for which he is chiefly remembered.
