First edition. 12mo. Single sheet folded once to make four pages (printed on three pages). Spine lightly toned, small closed edge tear and old horizontal fold, very good. Promotional leaflet for a series of lectures "suitable for Women s Clubs, for college and literary societies, and for women s organizations in general." The lecture subjects are printed on the second page, some with explanatory text: Old Times and New; Ghandi, The Hindoo Nationalist Leader; What Women Might Do With Their Votes; Heroines of the Early English Novels; Some Spanish-American Poets; Armenian Poetic Literature; and Modern Jewish Poetry. An additional subject is handwritten in pencil, possibly by Blackwell: "The U.S. & Latin America." The third page prints Blackwell s biography and a bibliography of her works. Cofounder of the League of Women Voters in Massachusetts, Blackwell was a leading American feminist, suffragist, journalist, and radical socialist. A scarce, ephemeral leaflet.
