Possibly Unread. No Dust Jacket. The Text Block is clean, soft white, tight, straight and square with no markings of any kind. The Binding is full dark brown cloth, very lightly faded at the spine, otherwise color consistent, with bright gilt title, author and design to the front board, bright gilt title, etc., to the spine, unmarked off-white endpapers, and all corners square and sharp. No Jacket. See the accompanying photos. xlvi, 862 pages, including Appendices, Bibliography, and Index, plus a fold-out map at the rear of the book. 6 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 2 1/4". This volume covers the operations of the Army of Northern Virginia from and including the Battle of Gettysbury (July 1-4, 1863), the aftermath of the loss and restructuring of the army and further events until the final surrender at Appomattox in April, 1865, with special emphasis on how leadership and command actually work and orders are carried out.
