There are no losses in life just lessons learned. Every experience, trial, and pain teaches us something we never knew about ourselves. Author Jeevan Brown dives into the lives of 16 college students as they experience the trials and tribulations that ultimately made them the men and women they are today. Based on true events, these stories are raw, uncut, funny, nostalgic, and emotional. From near death experiences, sports, rape, drugs, racism, STD’s, finances, fashion, relationships and more. Each story gives a detailed account of the pivotal aspects followed by advice, statistics and the lessons the main characters learned from each experience. This book may help somebody dealing with the same dynamic with hopes that they’ll overcome the unfortunate circumstances that he or she is in.

About the Author
Jeevan Brown grew up with a keen interest in music and writing. After graduating from high school, Jeevan left his hometown to attend Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his sophomore year Jeevan joined JCSU News, the bi-weekly campus newspaper. While writing for the student newspaper, Jeevan's professor noticed he had a knack for engaging readers. His stand out articles about the new social media phenomenon Facebook, musical reviews, and his Valentine's Day Tips and Tricks article quickly propelled him as the Feature Editor of the paper. Majoring in Communications, Jeevan took his passion for writing outside of JCSU and was hired as the Feature Writer for CharlotteVibe.com. He acted as a correspondent for the Charlotte Bobcats NBA team and interviewed American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, Kymani Marley and a plethora of Charlotte, North Carolina entertainers and artists. He went on to work as an intern for PLAY Magazine and Jungle Records during his senior year. After receiving his Bachelors of Art degree from Johnson C. Smith University, Jeevan was determined to make a career out of his first two loves: music and writing. Two months after graduating he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and started writing for OZONE Magazine. Unlike CharlotteVibe.com and PLAY Magazine, OZONE was a bigger media platform that had cover issues with some of hip hops most notable artists like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, and The Underground Kings. As a Contributing Writer, Jeevan interviewed artists for the Patiently Waiting and Internet Features sections. Jeevan interviewed artists such as Twista, Rocko, Rasheeda, Gorilla Zoe and many more. He also received a placement on Gorilla Zoe's 28 Days Later mixtape as a producer. While writing and traveling with OZONE, Jeevan not only learned the ins and outs of the magazine business, but the art of hustling for what you want. In 2010, Jeevan and three of his close friends started Demeanor Clothing - a brand dedicated to providing high quality, message-driven cothingl. Jeevan went on to contribute to VisionaryArtistryMag.com and MsRivercity.com where he has written about Gwyneth Paltrow, Sampha, Future, Migos, and 2 Chainz. In 2016, he accomplished one of his main goals of becoming a published author and released his first book A Lesson Learned. Jeevan is a freelance writer residing in Atlanta, GA and is a member Toastmasters International, where he has won numerous speaking awards.
