[Benjamin Williams] Crowninshield (1772-1851), Secretary of the Navy, concerning the appropriate peacetime troop level of the United States Marine Corps. "[85]" printed at top of title page. Includes "Letter from the Postmaster General, Transmitting a List of the Clerks Employed by Him During the Year 1815, with the Salary Allowed and Paid to Each," letter by R. J. [Return Jonathan] Meigs (1764-1825). Scarce: Only four copies traced via OCLC. Very good.
