This is a new translation that includes many letters never before available in English "revealing the brilliance, originality and ardent humanism of a unique genius".Two-tone blue cloth boards combined with a green leathered spine and 1/4 panel of both front and back boards. slight wearing to the green part of the spine, and rubbing on the board ends. Unclipped dustjacket in poor shape- torn and rolled over across the top of both the front and back. Slight wearing to the dj spine as well. Frontispiece has a photograph of Chekhov from 1890. 494 pages in very good condition unmarked except some very slight pencilled underling by prior owner. Seller Inventory # 376
