Printed for Pat and Michael Jaffé at Christmas 1989, their last Christmas in Cambridge before his retirement as Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum: facsimile reproductions of a charming correspondence, 1974-9, between the wood-engraver and the Jaffés' daughter Deborah, illustrated with his drawings and beginning when she was seven years old. "Here is a drawing of . . . a very lazy horse. If the men kept him waiting long he used to go to sleep on his feet, with his head drooping low. If I tried to sleep standing up, I should fall down with a mighty crash which would send frightened rabbits scampering into their burrows.
