With two plates to the first volume of The Tales of Gen, and three plates to the second volume, collated and complete. The History of Pompey the Little by Francis Coventry is bound with Voltaire's Zadig. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of all volumes except Tales of the Gen. William Raynes has also inscribed his name in ink to the recto of the front endpaper of The History of Pompey the Little. It is possible that the set belonged to the socialist politician of the same name, who was nominated as Derby's first Labour mayor in 1921. In a contemporary tree calf binding. The front joint of Launcelot Greaves is beginning to crack, and the front hinge is starting to Devil on Two sticks, The Adventures of Launcelot Greaves, and both volumes of the Tales of the Gen, but is firm across all four.
