Item description from seller

179 pages with 5 stone litho engravings including the "Jack Ketch", hangman's £1 facsimile note. With the rhyme of the crime and it's consequences for forging such a note. Marbled paper boards and cloth spine, label on cover of "Warrington, Museum and Library" and a circular rubber stamp stating the same on title page, no others. Still remains uncut and page edges not trimmed, contents clean and plates also. Spine has old repair and some loss top and bottom, head and tail worn down, marbled paper boards rubbed. Octavo. 1825. *There are many of these rhymes relate to the Yare and Norfolk and Bungay in particular. He was a portrait artist based in Norfolk and with a growing reputation when he fell ill and as such it left him unable to paint. He produced these poems to help feed his family and provide for his family. Scarce.

Store description

We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.…
