Book has moderate to heavy age/use wear. The shadow of former owner's name written in what appears to be pencil is just above the title on title page. The soft exterior covers have some large chips around corners. Else, typical scuffs, soils, inner hinge cracking, etc. The book is an influential cartographic and bibliographic study by Henry Newton Stevens (1855-1930), a renowned expert on Americana. Evans' 1755 map is considered one of the most important American maps of the 18th century, used by figures like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Stevens' book tracks the map's numerous reissues, improvements, and "piracies" by other publishers. 41 pages.
