A trace of bruising to the backstrip ends, else a fine copy in non-price-clipped (£12.99) dust wrapper, a little rubbed and chafed at the edges with two short tape-repaired tears. 'The Lewis Man' (Quercus, New York 2014). First US edition. 8vo. 320pp. Paper-covered boards lettered in silver at the spine. Illustrated with two maps. In fine state with fine non-price-clipped ($26.99) dust wrapper. 'The Chessmen' (Quercus, New York 2015). First US edition. 8vo. 301pp. Paper-covered boards lettered in silver at the spine. The tips of two corners gently bumped. In virtually fine state with non-price-clipped ($26.99) dust wrapper with a tiny trace of corresponding chafing to the tips of two corners. A very nice set of the author's multi-award winning Outer Hebrides-set crime trilogy. The first volume was declined by all of the major UK publishers before eventually being issued in translation in May's adoptive France in 2009 where it was deemed a masterpiece, scooped up multiple awards and was subsequently distributed by Quercus in the UK and US.
