Item description from seller

London & New York: George Routledge & Sons & E.P. Dutton & Co, 1910. Mill (1806-1873) remains one of the 19th Century's most interesting philosophers; his writings still inform liberal and libertarian political thought in both England and America. The essay was originally published by Parker in 1859. Here is a nice little late Edwardian edition, part of "The New Universal Library.Others to follow at short intervals." A Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition Thus, with an Index "now first added." Green cloth binding; fancy gilt decoration and title on the spine in gilt. Clean text; 176 pages, with eight pages of publisher adverts in the rear. Light wear; some bubbling to the covers. There is no publication date; Quercus offers a stylistic guess of circa 1895-1910. First Edition Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
