Item description from seller
Hardcover edition in Good+ condition. Lower corners and spine ends are crushed with some creasing to the lower corners of the boards; otherwise, the book is Like New. Other than the corners, the covers are in great shape. The binding is slightly gapped at head of spine (from standard shelf storage); otherwise the binding is square and tight. Small abrasion to the front flyleaf. The interior pages are clean and unmarked. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment for protection from the elements. USPS electronic tracking number issued free of charge. The 37 papers (nine invited) and 34 posters in this volume are drawn from the proceedings of the Fifth Library and Information Services in Astronomy conference, "Common Challenges, Uncommon Solutions," held in June 2006 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the issues facing astronomy librarians around the world. Ricketts (Anglo-Australian Observatory, Sydney, Australia) et al. compile papers by an international group of librarians, astronomers, and information specialists regarding the Virtual Observatory, citation analysis for astronomy, open access, technologies beyond the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) and Google, creativity in libraries, preservation, the history of astronomy and astronomical archives, and e-journals and the changing publishing sector.

Store description
Alien Bindings is an online bookshop located in Baltimore that has been in operation for nearly 20 years. Alien Bindings caters to the sciences including the physical sciences, astronomy, mathematics, computer science, the social sciences and medicine. I also dabble in a wide array of other categories including antiquarian books and history.
I run a clean, green business. I try to reuse clean materials for packaging whenever possible. For example, books are carefully packaged frequently using clean cardboard for custom made boxes, recycled paper is used for printed labels and recycled plastic or bubble wrap is used for a weather-proof barrier. I drop the packages off to my local post office via foot or cycle in order to further reduce the carbon footprint.
