New York: Harper & Brothers, 1861. First edition, 1861. Experiences of two men aboard whaling vessels over a five year period, combiled from their log books and recollections. With 39 engravings, 26 of which are full page, including a map of the Hawaiian Islands. Brown textured and blind-stamped cloth with faded gilt lettering and decoration, x, [3], 14-361p, [10]p publisher's ads. Godo condition with edgewear, additional wear to corners and spine ends, minor cover spotting, good hinges, sound text block, pages mainly clean with occasional instances of light foxing or finger soil, very minor tape repair to corner of one of the preliminary blanks, no names or other markings. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
