George Fertig was a Jungian, a socialist, a symbolist and an outsider. For 40 years he struggled to survive as as artist in Vancouver, British Columbia. Part biography and part memoir, as told by his eldest daughter, this book includes fourteen years of research, interviews, letters and over one hundred and fifty rare photographs. Born in Alberta in 1915 George Fertig's creative passion began at age twenty with photography during the Depression and World War II. He lived in Fruitvale BC and was a member of the infamous Trail Mine Mill Union in the '30s. George Fertig's unique oil paintings have found no duplication in Canada. They range from early landscapes, to large powerful archetypal images and small numinous meditations on eternity.

About the Author
Mona Fertig is a poet, publisher, and book artist. She opened the Literary Storefront in Gastown in 1978 and has been deeply involved in BC's literary scene for 4 decades. Her many books include: The Unsettled, Sex Death & Travel, Labour of Love. She runs Mother Tongue Publishing on Salt Spring Island, BC.

Books are returnable for full refund if done so within 10 days of receipt.

Book condition is based on the following guidelines: Fine - a copy with only a
very minor flaw and may actually be new and unread; Near Fine - a copy with a
more significant flaw or several minor flaws and/or with an overall feel and
appearance of a lightly used book; Very Good - a more worn copy but still in
collectible condition. Book plates, remainder marks, previous owner names,
price-clipped dust jackets and store stamps are always mentioned.

Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. All books are shipped well protected.
Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB (1 KG) or under. If your book order is
heavy or over-sized, we may contact you about extra shipping charges being
required. Tracking is included for customers in Canada and the USA. International tracking is expensive but may be required as an additional cost to some destinations.
