Basil issue. 2 volumes (in 1), octavo, modern half green morocco, marbled text edges. Printed by J.J. Tournesin, 1788. First octavo edition, first issue, published in the same year as the London quarto, and the first continental edition, predating both the German and French editions by a year. Internally, the expected signs of general aging to the text but well preserved and complete. Beautiful binding and presentation. This title being the first biography on the life of Captain James Cook and his travels.
