VOLUME III - DETAILS & POINTS: 1856, 523 pp.; frontispiece plus 50 illustrations, title page has no mention of number of volumes; in the Note to the Third Volume (p. iii) the author writes that he needs more volumes to complete the biography, and additional volumes would be forthcoming. On p. 248, a misplaced comma isn?t present and reads Near Fishkill. In the rear (facing p. 524) is a bound-in slip with a Publishers? Announcement relating to the increased number of volumes, and on the same slip an address correction for the author titled To Correspondents.-----
