Cloth faded, knocked at the tip of the top leading corner of the lower board & to the bottom leading corner of the upper board, light surface abrasion to the head of same - probable removal of a label, trace of a bookplate to the front pastedown, no stamps and with the body of text remaining unmarked and tightly bound. Tissue Guard portrait frontis, b&w plates, xv + 390pp.
