The first edition of this two volume biography of Oliver Goldsmith in leather bindings. First edition of The Life of Oliver Goldsmith by James Prior in half calf bindings and cloth boards.Complete in two volumes and told from a variety of original sources.Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece to Volume I and a facsimile letter as the frontispiece to Volume II.Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown of Volume I. From the library of Robert Johnson Eden Bart. In half calf bindings and cloth boards. Externally, sound. The title labels to Volume I are detached and are inserted to the book. One title label to Volume II is also detached and inserted. There is some bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities resulting in some wear to the leather in these areas. There are some light markings to the boards. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some spotting to the endpapers and first few pages. Good. Seller Inventory # 841W62
