Three large quarto volumes in half red cloth and barkcloth designed boards with gilt on spines, enclosed in a barkcloth designed heavy cardboard slipcase. Each volume is covered in a different earth toned design. Very attractive set in fine, as new condition. Volume one surveys artifacts from the Life in the Pacific of the 1700's, Volume two contains European Research, Conditions and Perspectives, with Volume Three covering Pacific Knowledge, Traditions and Perspectives. Gorgeously illustrated with single, full page artifacts placed on a plain white surface and backround. Volumes II and III contain research from many different scholars. Volume I; xxxii, 383 pp; Volume II; 144 pp.; and Volume III has 128 pp. History, Anthropology, South Pacific, Art, Artifacts, Exhibitions, Catalogs.
