Later marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Bound by Riviere & Son. With 21 color plates (one of which is an engraved title-page) and 22 engravings on wood by the inestimable George Cruikshank. Half title and directions to the binder are present. Cohn 37-38. Marchmont 84. Tooley 124-125. A beautiful copy of a comedic, wonderfully illustrated novel. A high spot in nineteenth-century literature and color plate books. A recent, small name label on the front pastedown and a faint contemporary name on the half-title. Plates and leaves are largely clean with just a touch of foxing.
