Item description from seller
From the collection of Florence Fenwick Miller, an English journalist and social reformer best known for editing early feminist journal 'The Woman's Signal'. With Miller's ownership inscription to title page. Publisher's red cloth. Bumped to the head and tail of the spine & extremities, spine discoloured, some wear & lifting to the cloth at rear joint, boards a little grubby with a few marks & scratches. Pencil ownership inscription to ffep. Ink ownership inscription of Florence Fenwick Miller to title page. Offset to ffep, margins rather spotted throughout. Binding just a touch tender with hinges both strained, else remaining firm. Humorously inscribed to p241 with a correction by Miller, 'He told me that he lost £40,000 on it in the first year! F.F.M.'. An interesting association copy from the library of one of Newnes' contemporaries Florence Fenwick Miller.
