First edition. Hardcover in yellow pressed-paper boards, with firm spine ends and sharp corners. The top edge of the text block is stained to match the spine lettering. Illustrated with 16 black-and-white plates throughout the 160 pages, including a frontispiece portrait of the author. In the original unclipped dust jacket, with a small, repaired closed tear at the head of the front panel and minor color loss along the tear?s creases. Additional color loss at the foot of the jacket spine. Overall, a very good copy. In these recollections of 70 years in the horse world, R.S. Summerhays, well-known show judge, editor, and Arab horse expert, tells first of his earliest days ? when the proud harness horse was a frequent sight in city streets ? and of the amusing things that happened to him.
