It is a part of the SIL's continuing effort to support and promote limnological studies in all developing countries. The reviews provide an overview of the physical environment and water resources, a summary of limnological research, information on the conservation and management of aquatic resources, training, and research facilities, and the concerned scientific organizations in the country. This volume includes limnological reviews for four countries: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Turkey, and the Sultanate of Oman.
