About this Item
Small 8vo. Ribbed blue cloth with gilt lettering and decoration, pictorial dust jacket. xxxii, 85pp, (1p ad). Tissue-guarded frontispiece. Very good/good plus. Jacket edgeworn and rubbed, with small edge chips and single large chip at head extending onto rear panel. First edition of this conjecture on how Lincoln might react to contemporary events. Interestingly, the front flyleaf bears the light nonauthorial gift inscription "Christmas 1925 / With Best Greetings / William Sacks." Sacks was a wealthy St. Louis oil man and bank director who befriended Hill and had the author gift copies of this book to other friends. Seldom seen in the dust jacket MONAGHAN 2779.
