Three volume set. Volume 1, published in 1975, has blue cloth on boards with gilt lettering to spine and gilt lettering and shield motif to front board. 429 pages. There are small 'nicks' to the cloth just above the front board title. Volume 2, published in 1977, has brown cloth on the boards with similar titling to volume 1, 292 pages and contains the indites for Volumes 1 and 2. Volume 3, published in 1986, has brown cloth and titling, as Volume 2, 398 pages and concentrates on the Phonology of the Scots linguistics. There are neat bookplates in all three volumes, for Johannis (John) Malden on front end papers or inside covers. John Malden was the president of the Heraldry DSociety of Scotland. Illustrated with maps showing the distribution of variations in the Scots tongue. The three volumes have a combined weight in excess of 4kg and, as such, will incur extra carriage charges for non UK customers.A scarce three volume set of this remarkable collection.
