Softcover cloth (brown) wrap. 8vo. 353 pp. Unillustrated. Signature in the top left corner of the front wrapper. Strike throughs and marginalia notes regarding the status of the soldiers are scattered throughout the text, but are concentrated near the front and back. Marginalia appears to be in more than one hand. Text block slightly brown with dog eared pages and worn edges. Binding strong and square. Cloth wrapper is stained and rubbed, the corners are worn and creased, the spine is creased, and there are chips missing from the back and tail.
