Five staplebound periodicals, each about 24pp., folded horizontally. Printed on cheap paper, but still in very good or better condition, with only a few mild chips at some of the folds and edges, with no notable loss. A very uncommon full run of this short-lived journal of cultural criticism focused on classical, orchestral, operatic, and chamber music. The Editors note in the first issue that there is an almost oversaturation of writing on the New York Philharmonic and similar major organizations, while smaller venues such as the New School of Social Research were getting hardly any critical coverage. "Listen" was an attempt to remedy this situation. Contributors included Sergei Prokofieff, Edward Jablonski, Leonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky, and dozens of others. Despite a scattering of institutional holdings, the magazine is scarce in commerce; we found none in the market as of this listing, and none in recent auction records.

Store description
As a small, independent bookseller in Cleveland, Ohio, I deal in general used, rare, and antiquarian books, autographs, manuscripts, pamphlets, and personal and family papers in all subjects. My family has been in the antiquarian book business since 1971. Are you moving, downsizing, or doing some spring cleaning? Did you inherit or otherwise come into some old books? Or, maybe you've collected modern novels from the last thirty or fifty years. No matter what kinds of books you have, we'd love to take a look at them! We travel throughout Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York, southern Michigan, and eastern Indiana, and will travel farther in some cases to look at whole libraries or even just a few particularly interesting books. Give us a call at (216) 352-3940 and we can talk more about the kinds of books you have.…
