This book has the "A" on the bottom inside corner of last page indicating that it is the first appearance of this Golden Press edition of this story. This book is profusely illustrated by re-known American illustrators George & Doris Hauman. They were best known for their illustrations of this 1954 edition of 'The Little Engine that Could'. Little Golden Press books ares known for illustrated heavy cardboard covers with a staple binding. The interior pages have NO writing, tears or creases. All pages firmly attached - NO loose or lost pages. Two stamps on inside front cover from previous owner. This is NOT an a remainder. Illustrated covers show soiling & rubbing on back cover. Very complete and illustration on cardboard covers is colorful. Has a 1" piece of masking tape on front cover. Book size is approximately 6.75"W by 8"L. See pictures. Rare to find a 70+ year old children's book that is in such good condition.
