_____"The set of Little Folks Library consists of six tiny books, uniformly bound issued boxed._____ Only two are by Ade; the other four are: "Fairy Tales from Shakespeare (Vol. I), The Tempest" written by Fay Adams Britton; "Fairy Tales from Shakespeare (Vol. II), A Winter's Tale [and] Merchant of Venice," written by Fay Adams Britton, "Rhyme Upon Rhyme," edited by Amalie Hoefer; [and] "Little Farmers," written by W.O. Krohn._____ The only complete set located is in the possession of Franklin J. Meine, Chicago." --RUSSO p.16. __________ "Circus Day" is credited in the book to George Ade and John T. McCutcheon (illus)._____ It is the first book Ade wrote for which he received credit and is described by Russo as "almost legendary" in its scarcity.___ _______ "Stories From History" is credited to "John Hazelden" but Russo describes a copy inscribed by Ade to McCutcheon acknowledging that he (Ade) wrote it. _____ This telescoping boxed set is complete, but the outermost box lacks the top panel._____ We believe that was probably blank as there is a publisher's title and contents label on one of the remaining sides._____ . _____ These books are bound in blue paper (we have also handled an unboxed set in red paper)._____ A side by side comparison with other full sets shows that these boxed books bulk thinner than the unboxed volumes._____ The others will not fit in this box._____ Make of that what you will. _____.
