Charming children's tale by the author who would go on to win the Newbury award for "Miss Hickory" the next year, this one features a little white rabbit who comes to learn that he is perfect just the way he is. Unpaginated, illustrated throughout in full color by Dorothy Grider. Though copyrighted in 1931 & published as a short story, this is the first appearance in book form, a FIRST EDITION from 1945 from Platt & Munk. With deep red cloth-covered boards stamped with a black rabbit & black lettering to front/spine, this small hardcover is in VG+ condition: exceptionally clean & bright, sewn binding strong & straight, pages stark white & completely unmarked, though what looks like an old gift inscription has been whited-out on verso of ffep. Fore edge side of pages uncut, & there is a small tear to this edge of the frontispiece. Exterior shows heavy rubbing to both ends of spine, less rubbing to corners. No DJ (missing). Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders places Weekdays by 2 pm (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. …
