IAN FLEMING - LIVE AND LET DIE, published by UK publisher Pan GP83, copyright 1954, First Printing ("This edition published 1957 by Pan Books" with no references to subsequent printings on the copyright page), true UK edition, thin "newspaper paper stock" version (i.e. same paper stock used on the Pan first printings on Casino Royale & Moonraker). NOTE - THERE WERE 2 DISTINCT VERSIONS OF THE FIRST PAN PB PRINTING OF THIS BOOK - ONE PRINTED ON HIGH QUALITY THICK PAPER STOCK (BOOK 18mm ACROSS) AND ONE PRINTED ON THE NORMAL "NEWSPAPER" QUALITY THINNER PAPER STOCK (BOOK 15mm ACROSS) - NO PRIORITY HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED AS TO WHICH VERSION OF THE FIRST PRINTING WAS ACTUALLY PRINTED FIRST (Gilbert, Ian Fleming The Bibliography, pg. 73). IN MY EXPERIENCE THE THICKER PAPERSTOCK VERSION IS MUCH MORE COMMON (APPEARING FOR SALE AROUND 75% OF THE TIME COMPARED TO THIS THINNER PAPERSTOCK VERSION OF 25% OF THE TIME).

Book has faint vertical spine stress marks, no spine lean, almost no wear to spine tips, virtually no wear to left/right on spine, partial stress mark to top right corner otherwise no cover creases, almost no edge wear, tight flat white pages with just 1 creased page corner from prior reading, pages starting to age yellow at page edges (but not as bad as often found with this version of the 1st printing), no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges, slight age darkening/dust soiling to outer page edges, no former owner's markings or used book store stamps inside, barest hint of dust soiling to back rear cover but no color transfer.

Overall a VG+/FINE- book of an Ian Fleming 1st printing pb book. I have a number of other U.S. and U.K. Ian Fleming James Bond 1st printing hardcover appearances up for sale.
