The Lockheed Constellation first went into airline service in 1946 with advanced features such as cabin pressurisation, hydraulic power-boosted controls, reversible-pitch airscrews and high-lift Fowler flaps. By the time it was displaced in the 1960s more than 850 Constellations had been build in a wide range of varying models (the evolution of each new version is described here; together with the airlines that operated them). Over 100 photographs and drawings included. Clean.
