Item description from seller

The Logic of Condillac. Translated by Joseph Neef. Published in Philadelphia. 1809 first American edition. 136 pp. 6.25” x 4”. 12mo. Hardcover plain publisher’s boards. As-is, with scuffing along edges and corners of boards. Losses to binding on spine. Shakiness and partial looseness to boards. Loss of front end pages. Cracking and partial splitting to middle of text block. Assorted markings at front, including on title page. Loss of front end pages. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece on the works of French philosopher and Catholic priest Etienne Bonnet de Condillac (1714-1780). Written by Joseph Neef (1770-1854), an Alsatian-born American educator who founded the first Pestalozzian school in the United States, as well as later establishing one in New Harmony, Indiana. A great piece for restoration.
