Richard E. Fike is considered an authority on the history of the west. Fike worked for the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Northern Arizona, School of American Research, and served 29 years as an archaeologist with the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management, leading the programs in Utah and Colorado.
