The late Ambassador Henry Serrano Villard (1900û1996), a statesman, philanthropist, and scholar, is considered to have been one of the world's leading authorities on early aviation. About the Author

Ambassador Villard was an accomplished writer receiving acclaim for several of his books including Contact: The Story of Early Birds and Hemingway in Love and War. Mr. Allen is past president of the International Aerospace Hall of Fame.
