Item description from seller

Stated first printings of the second revised edition of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which was extensively revised by Tolkien, who also wrote a new introduction for this edition. Published in 1967 in the U.S. by Houghton Mifflin, this colorful boxed set includes the following features in each book: first printing statements on each copyright page, folded maps in fine condition at the back, and unclipped dust jackets with the price of $6.00 each. All three volumes measure 8.75'' x 5.5''.The books and dust jackets are in very good condition, with some small tears and edgewear at the head and middle of jacket spines (see photos). Original publishers slipcase is also very good with small tears at top middle and top right corner. A beautiful boxed set of this beloved trilogy in hard-to-find first printings.
