Jacket Condition: . 3 volumes bound in half grey morocco over marbled paper boards by Bernard Middleton, each with gilt lined raised bands and six spine compartments, one with gilt titles, one with black labels and gilt titles and four blank, comprising: The Fellowship of the Ring, 1956 (5th impression); The Two Towers, 1956 (4th impression); The Return of the King, 1955 (2nd impression) each with folding map at the back. In addition, copies of the only two Lord of the Rings posters produced by Pauline Baynes are included, bisected and linen-backed within a card chemise and housed in a morocco-backed slip case with raised bands and titles to match the books: Map of Middle Earth, 1st printing 1970; Bilbo's Last Song 1st printing 1974. The rebinding appears to have taken place in 1977 according to an envelope and note from the binder, which includes samples of both the marbled paper and morocco. The original binder's invoice is tipped on to rear pastedown of volume 1. The spines are a little toned and there is a pinhole at the foot of volume 1, otherwise they are in at least very good plus condition. A lovely set of book and posters. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.…
