Lord of the Rings 3 Vol Set 1st Ed 8th Impression

An interesting early three-volume set of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, comprising The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. First Edition, Eighth Impression, 1960, published by George Allen & Unwin. All three volumes retain their original dust jackets, featuring the famous Ring and Eye design. The jackets are original and unclipped, and all three volumes also retain their original folding maps. The books are in generally good condition for their age. There is some general wear to the bindings and dust jackets, with some rubbing, creasing and wear around the edges of the jackets. There is also some discolouration to the endpapers from old sellotape. One volume has a small area of discoloration to the back cover & inside of the jacket. Internally the books are generally clean and complete, with the maps present and in good condition. A lovely early set of Tolkien's most famous work, and particularly nice to find complete with all three original unclipped dust jackets and folding maps. Please see all photographs for condition and further details. If you have any questions please let me know, thank you.…
