The Lost Clue. Mrs O.F. Walton, The Religious Tract Society, 1907, First Edition, First Impression Amy Catherine Walton, better known as Mrs O.F. Walton was a British author of mainly children's and teenage christian fiction books. In this mystery, Captain Fortesque finds himself torn between two loyalties and finds his life changed when he reads a mysterious note that could only be opened after his fathers death. In the meantime, Marjorie wonders how anything could grow in the bleak, coal mining region of Daisy Bank and finds herself 'bringing sunshine and growth to the dark, dreary world in which she finds herself. The book has four illustrations drawn by Adolf Thiede. This is a First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are clean and the gilt lettering and embellishment to the front cover and spine is bright.
